International Rubery Book Awards

Blades of Grass, has been shortlisted, in other words has been listed as a finalist, in the Non-fiction Category of the 2018 International Rubery Book Awards where it is described as providing "a portrait of a cataclysmic time in history", and that the "early part of the book tells us about George's life with photographs and family details, but everything comes alive with long extracts from George's life. He turns out to be an accomplished chronicler with the ability to enthral with details and insight into a world that is long gone."

The Rubery Book Award is the longest established book award based in the UK for independent and self published books, calling in a keen eye for quality from distinguished and reputable judges.
